Tricia Treacy + Denise Bookwalter initiated the unfolding library project as a method to curate, create, collaborate, and disseminate contemporary notions of an artist book in 2025. It includes new work by twenty-five artists/designers to make an artist book or object (in the broadest interpretation).

A risograph and letterpress printed publication, UL, vol_01, about the project was designed and produced by Bookwalter and Treacy to archive the project in 2025 to share outcomes.
The hand-sewn book is wrapped in a folded letterpress poster in an edition of 100. They are available for $100 each and can be purchased directly from library.triciatreacy.com
A set of each book can be viewed at the Frances Mulhall Achilles Library, Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City.
